Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church

Hopkinsville, KY

Religious Education

At Saints Peter and Paul, we believe faith is a journey, an ongoing exploration of our relationship with one another, ourselves, and, most importantly, God. Our Faith Formation Program is designed to provide a welcoming environment where individuals of all ages can deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith, grow in community with others, and strengthen their relationships with Jesus Christ. Whether they are taking the first steps on this journey or have been walking for years, our program offers various enriching opportunities to meet their needs.

Parish School of Religion (PSR) and High School Religious Education

On Sunday mornings, the Religious Education Program (PK-6 and 9-12) classes are offered from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Each class features an age-appropriate curriculum, interactive discussions, and engaging activities that help participants grasp and apply faith concepts to daily life.

Middle School Religious Education

On Wednesday evenings (6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.), we offer religious education classes for Middle School (7th and 8th grades).  We begin with dinner each Wednesday evening and then continue with classroom activities and studies.

Sacrament Preparation

Special programs are offered for individuals preparing for the sacraments of Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation. These are often included in our Religious Education programs. These opportunities provide teachings on the significance of each sacrament and the commitments involved.

OCIA (Formerly RCIA)

Everyone is always invited to explore the Catholic way of life.  Not baptized?  Already baptized in another Christian community?  Eager to know the path of God's life for you? Want to take the first step into a Catholic life of faith?

The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is the process used by the Roman Catholic Church to welcome those seriously inquiring about our faith and practices, and to catechize (instruct and prepare) those who wish to embrace the Catholic way of life, joining the Church through the Sacraments of Initiation. Inquiry sessions and Catechetical sessions are held every Thursday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. [from September through Pentecost]. Questions about Catholic life, faith, prayer, worship, and other practices are discussed and shared. We also offer training for Catholic parishioners so they may participate in various roles of OCIA, sharing the journey of faith with those who seek to join us.
