Welcome to Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, or at least to our web site. Such a “virtual” place as a web site still amazes me. But here you can have a true and thus real encounter with something of who we are as a parish, a Catholic faith community. We intend this to be a welcoming place. We intend to be a faithful exemplification of the Roman Catholic Church for all who visit us. You are welcome to walk with us as we seek to follow Jesus Christ in the Apostolic faith Tradition. This one Church reaches from the 21st Century and Christian County, Kentucky, all the way back to 1st Century Palestine and Jesus of Nazareth, the Twelve, and those first disciples with whom Jesus ate after he rose from the dead. We still hear the Gospel call of Jesus, “The time is fulfilled. The Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe in the Gospel (Mark 1.15).” We still answer the invitation of Saint Peter on Pentecost, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Like the 3,000 new Christians that day we still: “devote [ourselves] to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life, to the breaking of the bread and to the prayers (Acts 2.42).”
You are welcome to look about. What you find here and what you will find for real at 902 East 9th Street, Hopkinsville, KY, (and scattered from here all throughout this region) is a labor of love. All the good accomplished among us is the fruit of the grace of God’s love in the Holy Spirit. If you remember, though, how often the scriptures call people to repentance, you will keep in mind that we also struggle with human frailty. We, too, are sinners answering the call of grace and trusting in a mercy none of us deserves. If God’s grace is tugging at your heart to walk among us and with us, you are most welcome to add your gift of ongoing conversion to ours on this path of salvation that is also ours in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Prayer of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church
|O God, Almighty Father, you gather Saints Peter & Paul Parish in Jesus Christ, your Son. Here you call us to be a priestly people, a household of faith, a temple of your Holy Spirit, a beacon of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church shining for Jesus Christ in the heart of Christian County. As with faithful generations past, send us now to labor as stewards in the vineyard of your Kingdom. Grace our minds and hearts and hands with your Spirit to do the work of the Gospel. So that, building on the one foundation which is Christ and his Apostles, we may do your holy will and accomplish the service to which you call us. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom all good things come. Amen.|
